ROBBINSDALE: Via CCX Media, VERBATIM: “Hackenmueller’s Meat Market in downtown Robbinsdale is giving back to the community that keeps it going. So far, community donations have raised more than $3,400 to buy groceries for those in need. The system is simple — cashiers ask customers if they’d like to add $5, $10 or $20 to their purchase. If customers choose to donate, that money goes to an organization that shops for those who need it.” READ: https://fluence-media.co/4rSkUlq

MISS DEBBIE: Via Minnesota Spokesman Recorder, VERBATIM: “In a time where we’re grappling with issues of political polarization and police brutality, Miss Debbie Montgomery provides an example worth living by. Miss Debbie is one of the most respected people in the Rondo community of St. Paul, MN. She’s led an incredibly diverse career over the past 50 years. She has served as a police officer, city planner, youth detention lieutenant, Minnesota Assistant Commissioner of Public Safety, and teacher. Not only this, but she was also the first Black woman police sergeant in St. Paul. In addition, she was the first Black woman ever to serve on the St. Paul City Council. NONPROFIT HELP: Via UofM, VERBATIM: “When University of Minnesota alums David and Cindy Bearman decided to make their nonprofit Cleaning Up for Cancer a full-time endeavor, they had plenty of heart, but they needed some help on the business side . . . To get there, Cindy (the nonprofit’s president) and David (vice president and treasurer) needed strategic thinking they didn’t have the capacity to handle on their own. David reached out to his alma mater Minnesota Carlson, looking for student volunteers. Then he discovered the Impact Lab, a required two-course sequence where undergrad business students learn problem-solving methodologies, then apply them to real clients facing real challenges.” READ: https://fluence-media.co/4aLztBh
